Big Buck Contest offered Opening Weekend of Deer Season

Burnet, Tx.- Central Texas will be a very busy place starting this weekend November 3rd. That is the opening day of Whitetail Deer hunting season. Hunters will be everywhere looking for that Whitetail trophy buck. This is why the Burnet County 4-H Ag & Natural Resource Group has teamed up with Griffith Taxidermy of Burnet and other donors who have offered some really nice prizes in the Burnet County Big Buck Contest.
This Big Buck Contest will run only opening weekend and is open to any whitetail buck deer harvest in Burnet County. Burnet County 4-H members will record data on these deer and the following prizes will be offered;
-In the Youth division ages 16 and under, 1st place Big Buck will receive a Remington 243 youth model deer rifle courtesy of Sportsmans Warehouse in Round Rock, 2nd place will receive a Shoulder Mount of their deer courtesy of Griffith Taxidermy of Burnet and 3rd place buck will receive a custom made Boultinghouse knife.
-In the Adult age division, 17 years of age and up. 1st place Big Buck will receive a Shoulder mount from Griffith Taxidermy, 2nd place will receive a electronic deer feeder courtesy of HCR custom feeders of Burnet and 3rd place will receive a Tony Adams Custom Knife.
To enter your deer bring it by Griffith Taxidermy located on Hwy 29 west in Burnet on November 3rd and 4th. Contest entries must be presented by 8:00 PM on November 4th to be eligible for prizes.
Award donors include Griffith Taxidermy, Sportsmans Warehouse of Round Rock, HCR Electric feeders of Burnet, Boltinghouse Custom knives, Tony Adams Custom Knifes and L&B Beach House Rentals.
