Richard Prather writes about his painting Morning in the Hill Country , "West from Fredericksburg, Texas, a light morning fog had just lifted unveiling this farmstead. As I drove by I could see the whole scene still softened by the lingering moisture in the air. The aging barn and outbuildings seem to be a natural part of the landscape as if they had grown there like the trees and grasses that surrounded them. It is that sense of harmony and balance that I wanted to capture and convey in this painting."
To add to this visual experience imagine the taste of a memory or inspiration. Thats just what Riverbend guests will experience! Patrons will learn about the art of tasting wines with Susan Auler from Fall Creek Vineyards in Tow, Texas. Auler has been named by Wines and Vines magazines as one of the top 50 people in wine world. Susan will pair the textures, body and taste of the wines with the RFA collection created especially for this event.
Auler teaches classes on the art of wine and food tasting and pairing, and has been on the UT Fine Arts Advisory Council for years.
